What does Andrew Clack think about the Border and Amnesty?

Short Answer:

 

            Close the border (Use Fences and the Military if necessary).  Never grant Amnesty (McCain).  Furthermore, All Government documents should be in English only.

 

Long Answer:

 

            First things first – the border should be closed.  President Bush has the power to send the military to the border, yet he does not – this is wrong.  The border-state Governors have the authority to send the National Guard to the border, yet they do not – this is also wrong.  The United States has the technology, materials, and manpower to construct a nearly impassable fence, yet we do not – this is irreconcilably wrong.

            The first step is to stop the wave of Illegals crossing our border, inundating and burdening our Health-Care System, our Educational System, and especially our Prison System (The latest statistics place the Illegal Immigrant representation within our Prison System at roughly 27%, although they only represent about 3% of the population).  This can be accomplished with fences and manpower.  If we build a fence and send guards to monitor the border, illegal crossings will become an extreme rarity.  We can and should begin today.

             In every State, and in every problematic area where increased security has been instituted, the number of illegal crossings has significantly decreased.  It would be folly to ignore these successes.  We may never be able to prevent every single illegal entry, but we can and must stop the majority.  Remember, it was a mere 66 years from the time that America gave the world flight until We developed the technology requisite to sending men to the Moon – I think that we can build a fence.  I have always maintained that if someone wants something done, they need simply to tell an American that it cannot be accomplished.

            Furthermore, Amnesty should not be granted - ever.  The Naysayers (John McCain) will insist that we can’t deport the 30 million Illegals who have crossed our border.  I agree.  We can’t round up every criminal, nor should we waste tax dollars trying to accomplish this goal.  They walked here – they can walk back.  If we remove the incentives associated with living here in America, the Illegals will leave of their own accord.  We can accomplish this by eradicating welfare and other social services, and by drastically increasing the penalties for housing and employing Illegal immigrants.

           The reason that John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and a number of other faux conservatives endorse Amnesty is because they believe that the Illegals will become Republicans (Although they attempt to hide this fact by calling themselves “Compassionate”, whilst labeling “Enforcement-First Supporters” as Bigots, Isolationists, and Racists).  This is massively erroneous for a plethora of reasons, a few of which I shall innumerate in the following paragraphs: 

        First - No one should ever put the advancement of a political party above protecting the Sovereignty of one's Nation (John McCain).  We have borders for a reason.  They are not simply lines in the dirt.  An organism without skin will quickly die from infections; a Nation is no different. 

Additionally, we no longer live in the 19th century, when a trip to America required a three-month journey by boat, or a long walk through an expansive desert to reach our Country.  Technological advances (which exist because of America) have made travel easy, quick, efficient, and inexpensive.  Our Oceans are no longer a barrier; our Deserts are no longer an impasse. 

Second – We must not ignore the fact that the porosity of our borders, mingled with the promise of Amnesty, cheapens Citizenship.  A child is much more likely to “smoke his tires” until, that is, he purchases his first set.  In the same way, the current Crops of Illegals are not assimilating (like every other person and culture did before) because they sacrificed nothing to achieve citizenship. 

Third – If we ignore the fallacy of the first two conditions, ask yourself, “What would behoove the hordes of Illegals to incorporate into American Culture as Republicans?”  The answer is - nothing.  Because they are not forced to learn English and Assimilate, they are almost guarantied to fail economically; as a result, they are more likely to fall into the Liberal Panopticon of Welfare.  Id est - they are much more likely to become Democrats, not Republicans.

Once the border is sealed, and the incentives for lingering have been removed, we need to further encourage assimilation by mandating an “English Only” policy for government documentation.  One of the Greatest American assets is that, whether you and I agree or not, we are still able to communicate our congruencies and differences without the aid of a translator; we can travel from coast to coast discussing our problems in person.  If we allow a language barrier to form, we only invite isolation and detachment from the Greater American Society.  We cannot be One Nation so long as people are separated by an inability to communicate.
