Short Answer:

            No.

Long Answer:

The United Nations is naught but a reincarnation of a failed institution called the League of Nations.  The concept is sound; provide a place for nations to meet to discuss their differences, influence world economic policy and free trade, and provide justice for nations that break rules and regulations.  The application/implementation however, is abysmally and irreconcilably flawed.
The U.N. has become a meeting ground for despots and human right violators to attack the United States and her interests.  The worst part is that, beyond merely providing an enclave to discuss the "Evils of America", the U.N. by its nature provides a certain level of legitimacy to these countries (in the eyes of the uniformed), of which they would otherwise be devoid.  As far as trade is concerned, the U.N. is simply a funnel that siphons cash and goods into the hands of terrorists, rebels, draconian leaders, and corrupt politicians (oil for food scandal).
Concerning the U.N. as a judicial body, it is one of the most ineffectual organizations ever conceived by man.  It appoints Human Right Violators to Human Right Commissions, it passes resolution after resolution - never once enforcing its policies, it threatens economic sanctions while allowing proxy nations to trade freely, and it sends military support in the form of U.N. "peace keepers", who rape, murder, and steal from the people that they are meant to protect.
In 2006, the United States paid 22% of the U.N.'s total budget (almost half a billion dollars) on a mandatory basis.  Voluntarily we donated $8.7 billion to non-mandatory U.N. efforts.  Even though we pay a larger portion than all the world's nations, our vote to appropriate these funds is just limited as the least contributor.  The net effect is that the financing that supplies the World's Despots the ability to berate and attack our Nation comes from our own coffers.
The solution is to withdraw from the United Nations.  We know who our friends are; England, Australia, Israel, Canada (in some situations), and a handful of other small, assorted nations.  We also know our enemies; The Middle East (With the exception of Israel), China, Germany, France (Although they are improving slightly), Russia, and basically the remainder of Europe and the World.  Why do we need a corrupt bureaucracy to dictate how we treat our friends and enemies?  I say that the world would do well to remember that The United States is the greatest, most benevolent, super-power that has ever existed; I can think of nothing that would be more conducive to recollection than simply withholding our generosity for a short period of time.
